About Knowva

Knowva is the children’s encyclopaedia web app designed for curious learners aged 4–11. It brings together clear, trustworthy information across subjects like animals, countries, space, jobs, and technology, all written in language children can understand.

Unlike much of the web, Knowva is completely ad-free and distraction-free. Content is carefully structured and designed to be safe for independent exploration, while still supporting parents and carers who want to learn alongside their children.

Knowva was created by ex-teacher James Martin as a modern alternative to traditional encyclopaedias, combining articles, videos, audio, and interactive elements in one calm learning space.

We want to give young learners a safe place to explore big ideas with clear language, friendly visuals, and carefully checked facts. With that in mind, every page is designed, written and illustrated for children, while parents and carers can trust that nothing distracting or inappropriate will appear.

Knowva encourages curiosity, supports independent reading, and offers families a reliable partner for everyday learning. From animals and space to inventions and world landmarks, each article is designed to support early readers and confident learners alike. The focus is always on clarity, accuracy, and safety.
